If we could get national attention for problems here I think we would use it to help kids stay in school. That is definitely a problem in my opinion. We have a lot of kids who are constantly late or not even here. If you’re not at school, you can’t learn the lesson. Possibly helping to make homes more stable for kids some of my 14 year old friends basically raise their younger siblings who are most of the time not even out of diapers yet. So maybe some new cheaper daycare on the reservations so the kids don’t have to go home and watch the baby.
I think we could also use some help getting rid of drugs. There have been quite a few of my classmates who were super nice… when they were sober but now when they are drunk or high they simply don’t show up to school, volleyball , basket ball, or football games. It really is sad because most of these kids could be straight A students but their attendance is so poor they can’t move on to the next grade.
