Response to Native American Day

To me Columbus Day/ Native American day is a way to remember all of the Native Americans who died or were killed in the 1400-1500s.

I don’t believe it was at all fair to enslave the Natives, considering all they did for the new travelers. They supplied food for the travelers and took care of them. They weren’t bothering anyone all they were doing was trying to survive.  The Natives didn’t go looking for fights but got pulled into them all they did was traded goods and supplied food.

So I don’t think Christopher Columbus should have his own day in the US. Native American Day should be the one on the calendar.
